everybody. Welcome to the believers voice of
victory broadcast. Pastor George is back with us again, giving
us some more good information on how to be blessed financially.
Of course, if you’re not interested in that well you can
watch some other thing on TV, but if you want to be blessed,
the best way to do it is with the Bible. GEORGE: It is
the will of God for us to be prosperous. GLORIA: That’s
right. GEORGE: I learned that a long time ago from a very smart
woman of God. I’m sitting across from her right now. GLORIA:
Thank you very much. GEORGE: I remember your book that came
out. God’s will is prosperity and how revolutionary that was
really to all of us. It was the things that you taught in at the
a hundred fold return, all of the principles and these were
some of those principles you were teaching were hot off the
press. These are things that the Lord had just been showing
you in revealing to about prosperity. And you know, I
really took that to heart and really took it seriously between
that book and Kenneth’s book. On the laws of prosperity. Boy that
was a one, two punch that really set my course straight and here
we are, these outlines that we and you can go to the picture of
Gloria and me on the the website and click onto it and it will
take you not only to these notes that we’re teaching, but
Gloria today is our 359th day of prosperity. So soon we’re going
to be reaching our 365th day. And what I’d like to do in the
meantime, please, please send your testimonials. If you’ve
been following Gloria and me talking about prosperity over
all of these years and you’ve seen changes, you’ve seen
debt freedom, you’ve seen things happen. I really want to make a
call for testimonies and I’ll have our people here watching
for those. They’ll put them all together. And what I’d like to
do when we teach that week, the week of our year anniversary, I
want to read some testimonies every day and get those people.
GLORIA: You know that blesses people, they know if it’s
working for them, it’ll work for me. GEORGE: Yeah. GLORIA: And so
it’s a good thing. GEORGE: Like Keith Moore says, I’m in that
blessing line. GLORIA: Me too! GEORGE: Like I tell our church,
it happens to me all the time. That happens to me all the time.
You’re debt free. That happens to me all the time. So we’re
getting to that place. And then with those outlines, you
can download them, you can distribute them, you can give
them to friends. We don’t care. You go right ahead and do that.
1.5 million of those have been downloaded since you and I
started together doing these broadcasts. So I just wanted to
let you know about that. That’s important to be able to study
these out and to be able to get this down on the inside to where
you’re renewing your mind. Renew your mind that you are a
prosperous person. GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE: He wants, there’s a word
from the Lord that Kenneth gave some years ago and the Lord said
to him through Brother Copeland that he wanted to bless us
beyond our wildest dreams. He wanted to bless us beyond our
wildest dreams, I believe. And so he has that for us. It’s
stored up for us. GLORIA: Simple. He’s done all the work.
He’ll do all the doing. We just have to received. And He does
what He saids. GEORGE: That’s right. GLORIA: And we can
walk in a enormous, marvelous, wonderful blessing all the days
of our lives. All the days. All the days of our long lives.
GEORGE: I was out driving the other day and the Lord just had
me meditate on this for a while while I was driving and that
was, I’m a receiver, I’m a receiver, Lord, whatever you
want me to have, I’m a receiver. I opened my heart to receive
that and I get any kind of poverty mentality, lack
mentality out of my thinking because I have a good father and
he takes care of me and he takes care of us. But you know, this
leads me into what we’re talking about here because when let’s
say a person starts out, they don’t have anything, they begin
to study these principles and money starts coming into their
lives, well then comes a new challenge and that is how to
handle that wealth. You know, Gloria, there’s so many people.
GLORIA: And don’t let it handle you. GEORGE: And don’t let it
handle you. I like that. Don’t let it handle you. That’s right.
GLORIA: How to handle wealth and not let it handle you, GEORGE:
Not let it handle you. That sounds like a gloryism to me.
That’s so good. Gloria, how did you let it handle you? And
that’s what we have to do because when money comes
into things like for instance a family, I’m thinking about a
very wealthy, wealthy family right now. I won’t mention the
name, but it’s a very famous wealthy family. And because of
some things that I have known about concerning them, when the
patriarch of the family was in the hospital starting to
die, they were out side of the hospital door fighting
over who’s going to get what? Wrestling. That’s what money
does. If you don’t get a handle on it, if you don’t let that, if
you don’t get a handle on that now and how you’re going to
act and what you’re going to be, then it’s going to, it’ll, it’ll
chew you up and spit you out if you can’t, if you can’t handle
that. So that’s why we’re doing this, Gloria. It’s like Gloria
and I are having a how to handle wealth seminar. GLORIA: Okay.
GEORGE: And how to do it in the scripture. The foundation
scripture is 1 Timothy 6:17-19 Paul told Timothy to “charge
them that are rich in this world, that they be not high
minded nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God.”
GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE: “Who gives us richly all things to enjoy,
that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready
to distribute, willing to communicate, laying up in store
for themselves a good foundation against the time to come that
they may lay hold on eternal life.” GLORIA: Praise God! Amen.
GEORGE:So what we talked about yesterday, Gloria, we talked
about that, that point there. He told Timothy to tell you, charge
the rich people in your church to not be high minded. Don’t
be arrogant and don’t be filled with pride. Stop controlling
people. Stop pushing them around. Stop ordering them
around. That was, that’s what was going on in the church
GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: So he told them, you’ve got to teach people
this. You got to teach them to not be arrogant. Then he goes
on here to say, nor trust in uncertain certain riches,
but. TOGETHER: in the living God GEORGE: But let’s look at this,
don’t trust in wealth. Look at that NIV. Would you read the
NIV translation and number one there? GLORIA: Yeah, “Command
those who are rich in this present world. Not to be
arrogant, nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so
uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides
us with everything for our enjoyment.” GEORGE: That’s a
good, that is a good translation right there. GLORIA: That’s
good, that’s excellent. GEORGE: He don’t we. That’s where we
put here. Where do you put your hope? We put our hope in God.
We put our hope in him and no matter how much you have. No
matter if you’re at the starting point and you’re endeavoring
to make it from paycheck to paycheck, you, you, you then
begin to study these principles and you move from paycheck to
paycheck to now you’re, you got some money leftover and now
you’re beginning to build your reserves and your accounts are
building up and as it begins to grow and increase, you have to
keep the same mentality that we can not be arrogant. The more
that comes in, we cannot be arrogant, but we have to keep
our trust in God. GLORIA: You keep sowing. GEORGE: Yup, you
keep sowing, you keep tithing. Like you said, tithing really
keeps you in a place of safety and protection and stability.
GLORIA: It does, it really does. GEORGE: I use Gloria’s words
on that. That’s so powerful. It keeps us in a place of
protection. Go ahead and read the New Living on that one,
Gloria. That’s point two. GLORIA: Point two “Teach those
who are rich in this world not to be proud nor to trust
in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should
be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.”
Isn’t that an awesome scripture. GEORGE: It is, and the point
being there is not to trust in their money, which is so
unreliable, but our trust should be in Him. GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE:
If we maintain our trust in Him, the money’s going to be there.
It won’t slip away. GLORIA: No, and we’ll know what to do.
GEORGE: Yeah, we’ll know what to do. We’ll know what to do with
it. We’ll know. GLORIA: How to treat things, how to treat
money, how to treat people. GEORGE: Exactly in the message
translation, “Tell those rich in this world’s wealth to quit
being so full of themselves and so obsessed with money, which
is here today and gone tomorrow. Tell them to go after God, who
piles on all the riches we could ever manage.” Isn’t that
interesting that he says here he says that which is here today
and gone tomorrow. Well, that’s what happens, not to us.
That doesn’t happen to us. The principle of here today gone
tomorrow. If we’re walking on the Word, if we’re keeping
the Word of God first place, if we’re tithing, if we’re doing
the things that God is showing us to do and we’re being
obedient to him and we’re walking in love with each other,
then it won’t be here today, gone tomorrow. GLORIA: That’s
right. GEORGE: It will continue to increase. GLORIA: You can
see what a safeguard tithing is. GEORGE: You really can. GLORIA:
Because if you, if you’re trusting in your money instead
of in your Father GEORGE: Yeah. GLORIA: You won’t want to tithe.
GEORGE: Yeah. GLORIA: But we trust in the Father, and he
always gives us rich rewards, blessings increase. It’s the
rewards of the tither is great. GEORGE: Yeah and you don’t,
you don’t get to the place where it’s here today, gone tomorrow.
The Kingdom of God operates on the principle of increase.
Even if, I’ve got two scriptures going on in my mind at
once, GLORIA: Well we got time. GEORGE: Let me, let me read them
to you. GLORIA: Okay. GEORGE: This, this first one that the
Lord just dropped into my heart. This is Psalm 115 and it says in
verse 14 that’s not on your page there, I’m just jumping at this.
The Lord says, “the Lord shall increase you more and more,
you and your children.” GLORIA: Isn’t that great scripture.
GEORGE: That’s a wonderful scripture. GLORIA: Mhm.
GEORGE: But, we have to put the principles of the Word of God
in place and keep them in place. And what you said about the
tithe, now here’s the scripture about the tithe. GLORIA: Okay.
GEORGE: Proverbs 3:9-10 “Honor the Lord with your substance
and with the first fruits of all your increase, So shall your
barns be filled with plenty and your presses shall burst out
with new wine,” GLORIA: Praise God! GEORGE: That’s Proverbs
3:9-10. GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE: So what happens is as we, as we
regulate our lives, even if money is growing, even if the
wealth is growing, we regulate our lives to make sure that
we’re following the principles that the apostle Paul laid out
in Timothy, and we are tither’s. The thing that I like about what
you said is that when you’re a tither, that’s the first thing
you do. That’s the first thing you do when money comes in,
is you tithe. So it puts your attention on it, It gets your
attention on the money, but it gets your attention on the money
that’s going out, that belongs to God. It really is, it’s an
exercise. GLORIA: God’s money. GEORGE: It’s his money, so it’s
an exercise to keep us on track that we’ve put in, we put in
first place. The problem comes in when you have wealthy people
who have tithed and they were tithers when they, when they had
nearly nothing and now they’ve amassed in their finances and
they stop tithing. GLORIA: No, no, no. GEORGE: So Paul in
point four there, Gloria, in the notes, Paul understood that
the rich were tempted to replace their trust in God with their
trust and wealth. GLORIA: Oh, that’s a no, no. GEORGE: We
can’t do that. We can’t do that. I’m thinking about something
right now that Brother Copeland has taught me through the years
and as executive director, boy, I keep that, I have to keep that
before me all the time. He said, you cannot make decisions based
on money. If you make decisions based on money, you’ll be wrong
99% of the time. GLORIA: That’s right, yeah. GEORGE: He said,
you have to base your decisions on the anointing and what the
Spirit of God is leading you to do. He said, when you do
that, the money will be there. I listened very carefully to him.
Every conversation I have, when he calls me, he, he called
me early this morning about something. GLORIA: He did?
GEORGE: He did. GLORIA: Well good for him. GEORGE: He was
getting ready to come here and it’s, I have it on my phone as
Kenneth Copeland. I mean because when it comes on my phone, I
don’t let it ring twice. I answer that phone. That’s one of
the main reasons I have a phone. I’ve got it with me even right
now, I have a phone to keep in touch with my wife and to keep
in touch with Kenneth Copeland so that if he needs me for
anything, I’m right there. GLORIA: I appreciate that.
GEORGE: I don’t, I don’t turn my phone off at night. It sits
right next to my bed because I never know when Kenneth Copeland
may call and he called me about something this morning. He’d
been in prayer about a decision that we’re making about
something here. He said, George, I think, I think, I believe that
I’ve heard from the Lord and we need to hold off on that
decision right now. Well, I was really thankful about that. I
love when I get input from both of you about things that helps
me so much. But, but what he said that what he said to me,
we, we could have saved some money over here with that if
we had gone ahead and made that decision. But he’s listening to
the Lord and I know he’s got, he’s, he’s hearing from
God. GLORIA: Praise God, amen. GEORGE: So the decision that he
made was not based in money. It was based in what he heard from
the Lord. GLORIA: God. That’s good. GEORGE: So that’s, that’s
something that’s so important. GLORIA: That’s important, very
important. GEORGE: For us to know, but Paul understood the
rich were tempted to replace their trust in God and all that
to say, Kenneth is trusting God. He’s trusting God for the
particular thing that we’re, we’re talking about and the
thing that we’re doing, he’s trusting the Lord in it. GLORIA:
Amen. GEORGE: So you don’t, you do not, you know this, you don’t
go to him on the basis of money. Kenneth, now this is going to
cost too much. I can’t even believe I’m saying. GLORIA: That
is not a valid. GEORGE: I can hardly. GLORIA: That is not a
valid argument with him. GEORGE: I can hardly utter those words
because. GLORIA: That’s just too much. GEORGE: When you’re around
43 years, like I have been, you learn, you learn how to operate
with the Prophet and when the Prophet says, I have heard from
the Lord and we’re doing this. GLORIA: Zip it up. GEORGE:
That’s exactly, GLORIA: Don’t tell him why it won’t work.
GEORGE: That’s exactly right. GLORIA: No, it’ll work.
GEORGE: We made a decision about something. He made a decision
about something and I was, I was getting a little bit of flack
from the leaders around me about it, questioning it, wondering
about it. So we were over at your house one day and I had all
that team with me. And um, we, it came to the point of
discussing that thing that Brother Copeland wanted to
do. So I stood up, I stood up amongst all of us. GLORIA: Get
ready. Get ready, get ready. GEORGE: I said, brother
Copeland, I said, you have asked us to do this certain certain
thing that you wanted the Lord, the Lord told you to do it. And
I looked at him, I said, I said, is that what you want us to do?
Because I was making a point. I want everybody in the room to
hear it. But I said, is that what you wanted us to do? And he
looked at me with those Kenneth Copeland eyes. He said, George,
I have heard from the Lord. Don’t ask me again. Then he,
and then he laughed. He laughed. GLORIA: You got the point didn’t
you? GEORGE: But I got the point and I, we just, we had to
solidify that point. But we based it. We trust God. We trust
God. GLORIA: And we trust the word. We trust the word, the
word he speaks to us in our hearts. GEORGE: Go to page
two! GLORIA: And it works. Hallelujah! GEORGE: If we are
just talking up a storm here, this is great. A gloria store.
Page two, this is the rich young ruler. And he was somebody that
was controlled by finances. And I mean we know the story of the
rich young ruler. And for time sake. What I’d like to do, you
know, Jesus looked at him and said, one thing that you lack,
and he said, go sell everything you have given to the poor and
you’ll have treasure in heaven. Then follow me. And in verse
22.4, it says, and the man’s face fell and he went away sad
because he had great wealth. Well, obviously great wealth had
him, but I want to quote here, this is a quote from Gloria
Copeland. You did a series called the Kingdom of God, days
of Heaven on earth. Excellent series. Wow. Powerful. You were
talking about this very story about the rich young ruler and
this is what you said. Jesus was telling him to sell and give to
the poor, but why did he tell him that? And we don’t have any
record of anything of him saying that to at any other time
because that’s what his problem, that was his problem. He was
keeping the commandments, he was doing what was good, but he had
this one problem. He was trying to set him free so that he could
trust in him trusting in riches. GLORIA: Jesus was trying to set
the man free. GEORGE: Jesus was trying to set him free so he
could trust in Jesus. Trusting in riches is the danger of being
caught up in the world system. This world system can only go
so far. It is not the answer to every need. Thank God, I am not
dependent upon the world system. GLORIA: Think about it, George.
There’s no guarantee that goes with the world system. GEORGE:
None, whatsoever. GLORIA: But we do have a guarantee that goes
with the word of God. He’s good for it. He’s good for it. You
can trust him. GEORGE: There is no guarantee with the
world’s system. This is the only guarantee that we have. That’s
awesome. That’s awesome. Let’s go through these. Let’s do a
lightening round together here on this point c, let me read
this first scripture. Then you read the second one as we go
down, but the first scripture is this answers the question. Who
Do you trust? Proverbs 11:28, Trust in your money and down you
go. But the Godly flourish like leaves in spring, GLORIA: Praise
God! GEORGE: Go ahead and read. GLORIA: “Look what happens to
mighty who don’t trust in God. They trust their wealth instead
and grow more and more bold in their wickedness. But I am
like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always
trust in God’s unfailing love. GEORGE: So we don’t trust in
money. We don’t trust in wealth. We trust in him. That is the
place that we need to be in psalm 62:10 and the NIV, Do not
trust in extortion or take pride in stolen goods; though your
riches increase, do not set your heart on them. Though your
riches increase. Do not set your heart on them, money serves us.
We don’t serve money. We can’t serve God and Mammon as it says,
we have to make sure that we’re serving him and we do not put
our trust in money. So go ahead. And number four, Gloria, GLORIA:
This is what the Lord says; Cursed is the one who trusts in
man, who depends on flesh for strength and whose heart turns
away from the Lord. He will be like a bush in the wastelands;
he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the
parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.
GEORGE: Now, that’s the one who trusts in himself. Yeah. Now
here’s the next two scriptures following them. GLORIA: He will
missed prosperity. GEORGE: But here’s what follows immediately.
But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord whose
confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots from this by the stream. It does not
fear when heat comes, its leaves are always green. It has no
worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
GLORIA: Praise God! GEORGE: So that’s the difference between
someone who trusts in the Lord. Someone who doesn’t trust him.
GLORIA: Now, there’s a couple of things that stand out to me.
GEORGE: Tell me. GLORIA: Let me see. He does not feel, he will
be like a tree planted by the water. And then it says he does
not fear. So fear is something you want to watch for. Whether
it’s healing about your healing or about your prosperity. Fear
is the door, the open door for the devil to come mess you up
bad. Opposite of faith, If you fear you’re not in faith, the
opposite of faith. When heat comes, its leaves are always
green. It does not fear. So under pressure you could say,
yeah, things are always green. It’s good. It’s working. He
has no worries. In a time of drought, never fails to bear
fruit. So you know, you could be a farmer and you’re not getting
any rain, not getting any rain. So this scripture tells us not
to put our eyes on that, but to put our eyes and trust in the
Lord, he’s got rain. GEORGE: That’s it. GLORIA: But fear has
no rain. GEORGE: Yeah. GLORIA: For that farmer. GEORGE: Yup.
GLORIA: And faith has rain. GEORGE: Even as wealth
accumulates, there’s fear that they’re going to lose it. So
either way we cannot, we cannot be in fear. How
much time do we have left? Absolutely. None!
GLORIA: How did that happened? Okay, George,
and I’ll be right back. ANNOUNCER: We hope you enjoyed
today’s teaching from Kenneth Copeland Ministries, and
remember Jesus is Lord.
